903-27
41 kW/55bhp/ 56PS
Agricultural Power Units
In introducing the new 900 Series engines, Perkins has blended high
technology with experience to produce a quality product designed to give
clean, quiet, trouble free operation, delivering high performance over a
long engine life.
The Perkins 903-27 is an environment and operation friendly, naturally
aspirated diesel engine, ideal for tractors and general agricultural
applications.
As the protection of our environment moves closer to the top of the
international agenda, 900 Series complete with stage 1 off-highway
emissions capability now, delivers the benefits expected of a world
leading diesel engine manufacturer.
Reliable power
-
Perkins's high manufacturing standards and
quality procedures are customer approved and internationally recognized
to ISO 9000.
-
With over 4.5 million 3 cylinder predecessors
sold, 900 Series has an excellent pedigree of reliability. Now a completely new cylinder head and cylinder block with a
high efficiency cooling system, stronger structure and total
containment of fluids makes this engine the new benchmark of
reliability.
Durable Power
-
Legendary is how market describes the
exceptionally long service life of a Perkins' 3 cylinder engine. Building upon this reputation, the average 900 Series engine
is designed to give at least 10,000 very productive hours before
needing a basic overhaul.
Clean and
quiet power
-
Retaining all the cost and packaging benefits of
natural aspiration, the 903-27 is also operator and environmentally
protective, meeting stage 1 off-highway emissions legislation
proposals today, well in advance of likely implementation dates.
-
900 Series engines have a rigid acoustically
tuned structure which has enabled a 50 per cent reduction in noise
when compared to their predecessors. Now, with noise
manufacturers and farmers alike, Perkins has provided a cost effective
solution for both.
Cost efficient
power
-
Significantly lowering the cost of operation is a
design objective fulfilled, with service intervals for oil and filters
doubled to 500 hours, 00 Series brings more cost benefits to the
farmer.
-
Thanks to Perkins' mastery of air control and
Fastram direct injection, clean combustion has not been at the expense
of fuel consumption. 900
Series engines will provide up to 10 per cent more power and 10 per
cent more torque yet consume 5 per cent less fuel than those of the
previous generation.
-
The new cylinder block design plus closely
matched pistons and ring pack provide exceptionally tight oil control.
This maintains emissions performance and minimises between
service oil top up.
Power of
technology
-
The Perkins' 3.152 has a proud history and
although long regarded as the benchmark heavy duty 3 cylinder diesel,
it has been completely redesigned.
As the 900 Series, the Perkins' three cylinder engine takes a
quantum leap forward ready for the challenge of a new millennium.
-
Without resort to pressure charging, 900 Series
is ahead of emissions regulations and free of visible smoke--benefits
brought about by the power of Perkins' own technology.
Leading edge design tools, skills in air management and
combustion chamber design have brought to market truly turbocharged
performance, in an engine without the turbocharger.
