Think how much more you can accomplish in a day with a transmission that's capable of responding to your every need. The close ratio, synchromesh transmission you'll find in a new 5400 series tractor has 16 forward and 16 reverse speeds with Speedshift^TM - all on a single right-hand control. When you need to power through tough conditions, just touch the gear-lever-mounted button, and Speedshift^TM will automatically give you a powershift under load. For range changes, all you have to do is stop and press the HI-LO speed button.

FORWARD / REVERSE SHUTTLE

MF 5400 Series tractors make shuttle operations (direction changes) easy, with a lever that's mounted to the left of the steering column. Move from forward to reverse while your right hand is free to handle hydraulics and other controls. A synchronized mechanical shuttle is standard, and powershuttle is available as an option.

CREEP AND SUPERCREEP CONTROL

When you wnat full control and full power in situations that call for the lowest possible speed, MF 5400 Series tractors give you the option of available creep and supercreep speeds. You'll have eight additional speeds at your fingertips, including forward speeds down to .4 mph (0.6 km/h) using creep and as low as .18 mph (0.2 km/h) with supercreep.

 

The standards synchronized manual shuttle control is located at the left of the steering column, which leaves your right hand free for hydraulic operation.

The optional power shuttle lever gives you quick, smooth direction changes, without using the clutch; a convenience that's ideal for loader operations.
