It All Starts With Information Gathering

Perhaps you've wanted to explore precision agriculture, but aren't quiet ready to make the full commitment. Or maybe you feel like you need a newer computer before you can even think about yield mapping. Perhaps you're not even sure there is enough variation in your fields to justify yield mapping.

That's not a problem. With the Fieldstar Precision Agriculture System, you can ease into precision agriculture with yield monitoring only and add DGPS and the Fieldstar Office Package later.

Fieldstar yield monitoring system is already compatible with all Series 2 GLEANER and later model Massey Ferguson combines. In addition, FIELDSTAR can be added as either a field-installed or factory-installed option.

The yield monitoring system without DGPS uses the same measurement components as the complete yield mapping system. The only difference is that field information cannot be recorded on data cards without the DGPS (receiver) information.

 

Yield And Moisture Sensors

Mounted in the clean grain elevator of your AGCO GLEANER and Massey Ferguson combines, a forked-type yield sensor accurately monitors the flow of grain into the grain tank. Due to its location and unique design, the Fieldstar yield monitor provides accuracy well within industry standards of +/- 2%.

This data is then relayed to the communication unit where information is transmitted to the DataTOUCH command center for clear display.

At the same time, the grain moisture /temperature sensor, located in the grain bin loading tube (Massey Ferguson combines) or elevator head (GLEANER) continually monitors the crop and inputs the information as raw data. Unlike other brands, the Fieldstar yield and moisture sensor is easily accessible for cleaning and inspection.

 

Optional In-Cab Printer

For those who only want yield and moisture data, AGCO offers an in-cab printer (or data card download) designed to print out cumulative field data right in the combine cab. Without the cost of data cards, a data card reader or computer software, you can produce a quick, permanent record of a single pass through the field, a whole field or just one truckload.

 

The DataTOUCH display terminal provides easy viewing of an abundance of field and combine information.

 

 

DATATOUCH Keeps It Simple

Whether you purchase it as part of a yield monitoring system or transfer it from another machine, the large DataTOUCH display terminal provides easy viewing of an abundance of field and combine information. There's no need to flip through several different screens or look around the cab. All the data you'll need is clearly displayed in bar graphs and /or digital readout. In addition, data is numerically summarized in trip, field and job data, including acres-per-hour and bushels per hour.

  • Transport Screen - Indicates ground speed, local time and GPS status (with DGPS antenna).

  • Main Menu - These programmable screens are used to set up daily harvest programs:

    • Data Logging

    • System Diagnostics

    • Combine Settings

    • Crop Settings

  • Harvest Screen - Provides necessary combine and harvest data plus:

    • GPS/DGPS Status

    • Percent of Data Card Used

    • User-Defined Field Markers (none, 2, 4, 6 or 8). Choose from a pre-programmed list, or key in your own unique marker name.

Put The Whole System To Work

Hesitant about jumping in with both feet? There are plenty of reasons to step into precision agriculture, whether yield mapping is your next step after yield monitoring, or it's a leap of faith from the beginning.

Fieldstar precision agriculture gives you the ability to maximize profits by increasing yields while you adjust and, in many cases, reduce inputs like fertilizer, insecticides, herbicides, seed rates and tillage practices.

It all centers around the Fieldstar yield monitor and the global positioning system installed on your AGCO brand combine.

  • As grain flows through the clean grain elevator, the mass is measured and recorded.

  • At the same time, Global Positioning Satellites (GPS) and Differential GPS (DGPS) correctional signals are allowing Fieldstar to plot your location in the field.

  • Both of these measurements are recorded in your choice of intervals (time or distance) while harvesting and recorded on a data card for transfer to your office computer.

  • From this information, a yield map is created, using the Fieldstar Office Package software.

  • Collecting information on yield performance from successive years and crops builds a database.

  • Actions can then be taken to improve yield or reduce costs to maximize the profit from the next crop.
