Corn Heads

MF Combine

Main

A NEW GENERATION OF CORN HEADS

Chopping your stalks while combining:

  • Eliminates a secondary chopping operation

  • Allows easy decomposition of stalk material during winter

  • Exposes corn borer in cut stalks to killing frost

  • Enhances moisture retention in dry areas

  • Provides smooth, no-til spring plating, free of plugging

Left side of photo shows chopped stalk material evenly spread across the harvested corn rows. The right side shows a field harvested with a conventional competitive corn head. Time required for the decomposition of organic material is greatly reduced by finely chopping.

The Harvestec Chopper

The 2-blade rotary chopper is driven directly from the snapping unit gearbox. Stalks are chopped as they feed through the snapping rolls.

Chopping stalks before they fall to the ground means all stalks are chopped. There are no un-chopped stalks to be trampled by combine or tractor tires before chopping.

EXCELLENCE

IN PERFORMANCE AND RELIABILITY

Attachment to Combines

Bolt-in mounting adapters to attach to most popular combines.

Auger

Large diameter auger handles high crop volume smoothly and evenly. The center section is factory fitted with extended flighting to handle high volumes of mateiral. The center extended flighting is removable and can be replaced with spike teeth for positive, even feed to wide combine feeders. Auger is protected by a torque-limiting clutch.

Ear savers

Rubber ear savers that prevent ear loss are removable if required in down and tangled conditions.

Gathering

Chains

Spring-loaded, popular CA550 long lasting chains. Front idler is made of polymer for long life and quiet operation.

Drives

Heavy duty drives are easily accessible with hinged shields.

Snapping Rolls

Aggressive snapping rolls are built extra-tough for long wear. Hardened bolt-on flutes are replaceable without the cost of replacing the complete roll.

Each snapping roll is front supported on re-greasable needle bearings.

Standard vine and grass knives prevent grass, weeds and damp stalks from wrapping.

Torque Limiting Clutch

Clutch in PTO shaft protects drives.

Electric Snapping Plate Control

Snapping plate spacing is adjustable from the operator seat. All rows adjust simultaneously.

Snouts and Dividers

Snouts and dividers hinge upwards for service access. Secondary unlatching permits the snout to be pivoted downwards and positioned to reduce width for transportation by truck or for storage.

EXCELLENCE IN PRODUCTION

AND PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

  • The factory has produced corn heads since 1972.

  • The focus on headers means commitment to constant improvement. Introduction of new ideas depends on exhaustive testing and proving in the cornfields of North America and Europe.

  • Production workers are regularly trained in latest proven production and assembly techniques.

  • A state of the art painting system ensures that highest quality finish. All component parts are electrostatically prime coated by dipping in a protective paint solution. This ensures that all welded and hard to reach joints are protected from rusting. Before final assembly, parts are fully painted, ensuring highest integrity of protective finish.

Folding Corn Heads

Folding corn heads are available for reduced road travel width and for easy storage. Hydraulically  foldable from the operator's seat.
